As it paves its way into the Latin American market, Glovo, the spanish last-mile delivery app has settled in Bogotá to expand their international operations.
Rappi’s contendant chose Colombia’s capital because of their strategic geographic positioning and the market’s potential to launch new products and services.
The green and yellow startup was founded in Barcelona in 2015, and it’s already operating in more than 30 cities worldwide, including some Middle Eastern and South American countries.
Glovo has other modus operandi as well. For instance, Glovo Business directly helps local businesses leverage the startup’s logistics and transportation resources to outsource their delivery services instead of hiring an in-house team.
It seems like the last-mile delivery bubble is about to burst and only the fittest will survive. At the end of the day it’s a margins game. Sad to say so, but it is now a commodity business.
